Beating The Clock In Bonneville

Motorcyclists Set Records At 2017 AMA Land Speed Grand Championship

Racers from around the world took to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Wendover, Utah, on Aug. 26- Aug. 31 for the 2017 AMA Land Speed Grand Championship in hopes of setting AMA national and Fédération Internationale de Motocylisme world records.

“Racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats is the pinnacle of land-speed racing,” said AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant. “Not only do competitors race against others in their class for AMA National No. 1 plates, they compete against world records set before them. Congratulations to the many racers who were successful in securing new records.”

More than 40 racers were successful in their pursuits in setting new national and world land speed records, but the records still are pending AMA and FIM certification.
