NHTSA Expands AV Tracking Program
Testing Affects Motorcyclists On Roads
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has expanded its Automated Vehicle Transparency and Engagement for Safe Testing pilot program into a full program that provides information to the public about the on-road testing and safety performance of automated driving systems in cities across the country.
Nine states and nine companies fully participated in the AV TEST pilot initiative. Under the expansion, 52 companies, governments and associations are participating.
The information provided is intended to keep the public informed of the progress, advancement and safety implications of the automated vehicles that participate in the program.
