AMA Western States Representative Nick Haris has been named to the California Strategic Highway Safety Plan Motorcycle Challenge Area Committee.

The Strategic Highway Safety Plan is a statewide data-driven traffic safety initiative that coordinates the efforts of a wide range of organizations to reduce traffic crash fatalities and serious injuries on all public roads.

In coordination with federal, state, local and private sector safety stakeholders, the plan establishes goals, objectives and emphasis on challenge areas.

The motorcycle challenge area is defined based on victims in collisions involving a motorcycle or moped.
