After four rounds of nail-biting racing, Gage McAllister, Christian Payne and Dave Rock walked away with AMA National No. 1 plates at the AMA Supermoto National Championship Series Finale on Sept. 16.

Securing the 2017 AMA Supermoto Pro Open National Championship, McAllister was the talk of the series, accumulating six wins and two runner-up finishes to take the title with 194 points.

Payne was crowned an AMA National Champion in the Pro Lites division and Rock won the Amateur class championship with 62 points.

All three championships were determined based on racer’s finishes in the first four rounds of the series, after the fifth-round, scheduled for Oct. 7 in Pensacola, Fla., was canceled due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Nate.
