Public/Private Partnerships To Expand Access

National Park Service Forms ‘Made in America’ Committee

The National Park Service has formed a committee to advise the Secretary of Agriculture “on public-private partnerships across all public lands, with the goal of expanding access to and improving infrastructure on public lands and waterways.”

The “Made in America” Outdoor Recreation Advisory Committee’s duties include: making recommendations on policies and programs that expand and improve visitor infrastructure through public-private partnerships; implementing sustainable operations that embrace fair, efficient and convenient fee collection and strategic use of the collected fees; improving interpretation using technology; and creating better tools and/or opportunities for Americans to discover their lands and waters.

The committee will meet approximately two times a year. These meetings are open to the public and include time for public comment. Meeting notices will appear in the Federal Register.
