Utah Revises State Sage-grouse Plan

More Land To Fall Under Restrictions

Utah’s newly released Utah Conservation Plan for Greater Sage-Grouse calls for increasing the animal’s seasonal habitat by 75,000 acres each year and expanding the highest-priority habitats and migration corridors by at least 5,000 acres a year by designating conservation easements.

Utah’s sage-grouse habitat management plan covers 7.5 million acres and encompasses about 94 percent of the state’s sage-grouse population, according to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.
