‘Wild’ Willy Palmer Wraps Up Title
Willy Palmer secured the AMA East Hare Scramble Championship, after taking the win at the final round of the series in Axton, Va., on Nov. 12.
2016 AMA East Hare Scrambles Champion Kyle McDonal got out to an early lead after grabbing the holeshot and remained up front for most of the race.
Back in fourth place, Palmer was battling with Brandon Nero for third, until a crash from Mario Testa in second, moved both Nero and Palmer near the front, just behind McDonal.
Nero stole the lead from McDonal for part of lap two, but it was ultimately Palmer who took the checkered flag, after emerging from the woods in first on lap three.
McDonal grabbed the final spot on the podium, finishing third, just behind Nero, who claimed second place at the finish line.
