Motorcycle Thefts Dropped In 2017
Groups Says 44,268 Taken
U.S. motorcycle thefts were down about 5 percent in 2017, according to an annual report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
The 44,268 motorcycles were stolen in 2017 compared with 46,467 in 2017, the report states.
The top five states for thefts include California, 7,532; Florida, 4,323; Texas, 3,525; South Carolina, 1,732; and North Carolina, 1,632.
Maine and Vermont had the fewest reported motorcycle thefts, with 27 each.
