Steve Salisbury, AMA government relations manager for off-highway issues, made the trek to Moab, Utah, to learn firsthand about some of the challenges facing off-highway motorcyclists in one of the nations’ most popular trail destinations.

Salisbury toured the area with Clif Koontz, recipient of the 2018 AMA Outstanding Off-Road Rider Award.

“I was there to learn more about access challenges in Utah and build awareness of the AMA Government Relations Department and its efforts on behalf of members and enthusiasts with local riders, land managers and politicians,” Salisbury said. “Sometimes, the AMA’s efforts on behalf of riders are not readily recognizable, because much of our work is behind the scenes, calling and writing to government officials. We want all motorcyclists to know that the AMA has their backs.”
