Two longtime motorcycle advocates are retiring from the board of directors of AMA District 36.

AMA Life Member Dave Pickett and AMA Charter Life Member Ed Santin will continue to serve as D36 committeemen at large and will still participate in AMA Congress, Santin said.

Pickett will act as an adviser to District 36 on legislative issues. Santin is still the district’s competition director, as well as serving on the Dirt Diggers North Motorcycle Club and Hangtown National Motocross boards.

Pickett got involved in District 36 in the early 1970s and held positions as committeeman-at-large and sanction steward before moving up to serve on the board of directors. He was president from 2004 to 2014 and also served as legislative action officer.

Santin served on the district’s board of directors from 2005 to 2018. He was vice president from 2005 to 2013 and was District 36 AMA off road congressman from 2002 to 2014.
