Hare and Hound

Norman wins 2018 title at 100s National Hare and Hound

Kendall Norman’s return to full-time off-road racing concluded with him winning the 2018 AMA Kenda SRT National Hare and Hound Championship. The Honda rider’s fifth-place finish was enough to win the title at the 100s National Hare and Hound, which took place in Ridgecrest, Calif., Oct. 28. Norman finished the season with a 19-point lead over Yamaha rider Nicholas Burson in the Pro Class standings. The event was won by Husqvarna rider Dalton Shirey, who scored his first and only win of the 2018 season. Beta rider Joseph Wasson finished in second place, and Burson rounded out the podium.

 

 

Grand National Cross Country

Baylor wins final

GNCC event of 2018

After being named as a replacement rider for reigning Grand National Cross Country Series Champion Kailub Russell on the U.S. ISDE Trophy Team, Steward Baylor Jr. finished the 2018 GNCC season with a victory. The KTM rider won the AMSOIL Ironman GNCC on Oct. 28 to take his first and only GNCC win in 2018, beating KTM rider Josh Toth by more than a second. Husqvarna rider Josh Strang rounded out the podium. The win helped Baylor secure third place in the GNCC XC1 Class championship standings, behind Husqvarna rider Thad Duvall and 2018 champion Russell.

 

 

Road Racing

Yaakov, May, Adams shine at WERA Grand National Finals 

Kayla Yaakov, Geoff May and Daniel Adams were the big winners at WERA Motorcycle Roadracing’s Grand National Finals event. Forty-three riders won a total of 71 races at the event, which took place Oct. 25-28 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala. Yaakov,  at age 11, was the top performer at the event, scoring nine wins. MotoAmerica Superbike Class rider May took five victories on his BMW S 1000 RR at the event, while Adams won four races. The event’s endurance race was won by Chris Perris and Ben Walters aboard a BMW S 1000 RR.
