Individual Member Reps

Hub Brennan

Herbert J. “Hub” Brennan and Byron B. Snider are the new members of the AMA Board of Directors. Each was the only qualified candidate in his region, as determined by the nominating committee of the AMA Board of Directors.

Brennan, a doctor from East Greenwich, R.I., will represent individual members in the Northeast Region. Snider, of Newbury Park, Calif., will represent individual members in the Southwest Region.

Brennan is a 22-year member of the AMA and a lifelong motorcyclist. He has been active in an AMA-chartered club and the AMA Medical and Trials Commissions.

Brennan also represents the AMA on the FIM Medical Commission.

“I am interested in contributing to, and advancing the goals and objectives of our premiere member service organization,” Brennan said.

The most pressing concerns facing the AMA are land use issues and the need for membership growth, he said.

Snider, president of West Oak Capital LLC, began riding a Honda SL70 as a child. Nowadays, he and his son race their 1989 Honda CR250s in vintage motocross and grand prix events in Southern California.

“Motorcycles have provided many of my most treasured experiences, and I believe the AMA can help that continue for future generations,” Snider said.

Snider said the AMA has a “wonderful opportunity” to get more young people involved in motorcycling by helping parents understand rider safety and how riding can benefit child development.

In the Southwest Region, access to land for riding on trails and tracks is an important issue, he said.
