Economic Impact Growing
Motorcycle and ATV riding are among the nation’s more popular outdoor activities, and their economic impact was $9.1 billion in 2017, according to a report from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
The report, issued in September, shows motorcycling and ATV riding contributed more to the U.S. economy than hunting, equestrian or snow-related activities.
Boating and fishing added $20.9 billion to the economy, while RVing contributed $16.9 billion.
Overall, the U.S. outdoor recreation economy accounted for 2.2 percent ($427.2 billion) of current-dollar gross domestic product in 2017.
