The mid-summer months will be sizzling with the intense racing action of two AMA Grand Championships.

The AMA Flat Track Grand Championship and AMA Hillclimb Grand Championship take place in late July and early August and feature the top amateur athletes in each discipline battling to become AMA national champions.

The AMA Flat Track Grand Championship starts with three days of competition July 20-22 at Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Ind. Each day features a different format, including half-mile, TT and short track. After a one-day break, the championship concludes with half-mile racing on the pea gravel at the Ashland County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Ohio.

Two weeks later, Bay City, Wis., plays host to the uphill racing action of the AMA Hillclimb Grand Championships. Competitors will get two opportunities for each class they enter to ride as fast as they can to the top of a 500-foot hill at Valley Springs Motorcycle Club Aug. 8-9.
