Detroit Area To Get OHV Park
215-Acre Site Planned
Officials in Oakland County, Mich., are working with the state Department of Natural Resources to develop 215 acres near I-75 into a park for motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and full-sized vehicles.
The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council reported that the county’s park officials credited lessons learned from a 2014 NOHVCC OHV Park Development Workshop for guiding them to success.
Oakland County is part of the Detroit Metro area, home to more than 4 million residents. There are no OHV parks within three hours’ drive. The site selected was the previous location for sand and gravel operations.
