Thirty-three national champions crowned at 2019 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship

Thirty-three racers won 36 AMA National Championships at the 2019 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by Lucas Oil, July 29-Aug. 3 at Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.

Two rounds of qualifiers narrowed a field of 19,227 riders to the 1,509 who competed at the nation’s official amateur motocross championship.

Honored at the event were the winners of four AMA Racing Awards, including 2019 Nicky Hayden AMA Motocross Horizon Award winner Jalek Swoll. The Belleview, Fla., resident won the Open Pro Sport Class title.

Other AMA Racing Awards recipients are 2019 AMA Youth Motocross Racer of the Year Maximus Vohland of Granite Bay, Calif.; 2019 AMA Vet/Senior Motocross Racer of the Year Mike Brown from Bristol, Tenn.; and 2019 AMA Amateur Motocross Racer of the Year Jarrett Frye of Mechanicsville, Md.
