2019 AMA Flat Track Grand Championship
It is the nation’s premier amateur flat track national championship event The four-day event tests racers’ skills on three types circuit: short track, half-mile and TT.
AMA National No. 1 plates are awarded to the racers in each class who have the highest point totals for the four days.
In 2019, the event kicks off July 22 with half-mile racing at the Ashland County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Ohio, before moving to the Triangle Motorcycle Club in Harpster, Ohio, July 24-26 for short track, TT and half-mile racing.
The Nicky Hayden AMA Flat Track Horizon Award, AMA Fast Brain Award, AMA Youth Flat Track Racer of the Year award and AMA Vet/Senior Flat Track Racer of the Year award winners will be announced at the event.
Racers compete on traditional flat track motorcycles, as well as DTX motorcycles. DTX bikes begin as stock motocross bikes and are fitted with flat-track tires and suspension and undergo other modifications.
