AMA-Chartered Club Gets $390,000 Grant

Waco Eagles To Rehab Trails

The Waco (Texas) Eagles Motorcycle Club has received a $390,560 grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to improve its 70-year-old dirt track in Hallsburg.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission awarded the grant for renovation of 10 miles of trail, new trail maintenance equipment, supplies and trail amenities. The club also plans to build a handicap-accessible bathroom.

The money is part of the state’s allocation from the federal Recreational Trails Fund. In 2018, the state awarded $3.38 million for 19 motorized and non-motorized recreational trail-related projects.

Waco Eagles President Jeff Gilbert said the club’s facility charges $135 a year for membership.
