Wayne National Forest Begins Review

Forest Plan Revision Underway

The Wayne National Forest has initiated the assessment phase of its Forest Plan Revision, according to a notice published in the Federal Register on April 19.

The Forest Plan revision process will continue for two to three years. The revised Forest Plan will guide all land management activities on the Wayne National Forest for the next 10 to 15 years.

“We are now reviewing the feedback we received from the public during the eight kick-off meetings held in March and April,” Forest Supervisor Tony Scardina said. “By June 1, we will announce a comprehensive public engagement plan for the assessment phase, which will provide a detailed outline of additional public meetings and other ways the public can provide the information we are looking for during the assessment phase of the Forest Plan Revision process.”

Those wishing to submit comments, information or scientific data before the announcement of the comprehensive public engagement plan should contact [email protected], or mail submissions to Lori Swiderski at Wayne National Forest, 13700 U.S. Hwy. 33, Nelsonville, OH 45764.

If you have any questions about the process, contact Swiderski at the same email address listed above or call her at (740) 753-0859.
